Electric driving is a huge step forward. No local emission, no noise, no flue, that does make a difference compared to combustion engines, that produce far more heat than propulsion. Efficiency and torque make electric engines favourable over the common heavy fossile burning machines.
But to electrify vehicles driven by individuals only makes the traffic jam cleaner. If we sincerely want to reduce emissions caused by transportation sector we will have to switch to multi-modal mobility. Using bike or public transport, e-car-sharing or train, or by just walking we may not only avoid emissions. We even might enhance both these means of transport and our way to move around.
